Hailing from San Antonio, TX Karina Garanzuay (Velvet La Vamp) is a multi-faceted visual & performance artist that has traveled & lived coast to coast with her various creative endeavors. She also is the Owner & Curator of Velvet La Vamp Studios, an artist run gallery & studio in The Upstairs Studios at Blue Star Arts Complex. She has a style that is uniquely her own and fuses the cheerful and the tragic with each artwork & performance she unveils.
Karina Garanzuay (Velvet La Vamp) has stepped into a new era of her visual artistic journey. After traumatic events, recent life challenges and a deep heartbreak she is pouring her experiences and emotions into a new series of collage & mixed media, "Dissociation & Reinterpretation" as a means to process her pain. "The Death of Us" is the first artwork created in this series.
